Got a question for us about filming and photography at Old Royal Naval College?
We’ve compiled our most frequently asked questions for you, but for the avoidance of any doubt, photography/filming on our site is at the discretion of the organisation and we ask that you respect our site and staff.
What does photography/filming for personal use only cover?
General photography of the site and buildings as a memory of your visit to the Old Royal Naval College. These images are not to be used for commercial or financial gain. Photography and filming for non-commercial purposes are encouraged at the Old Royal Naval College. We would love to see photographs of your visit on Twitter and Instagram – tag your best shots with #OldRoyalNavalCollege.
I have professional equipment but am an amateur photographer. Can I use my equipment on site?
I would like to use a tripod, additional lighting etc. is this possible?
Yes but you will need our consent. You will need to email the Old Royal Naval College giving dates, times, numbers of persons involved, what equipment is being used, what and where you want to photograph/film and where the images will be used.
If acceptable to us a licence will be issued to control the use of the images and an appropriate fee charged.
Can I come and take pictures/film for my portfolio to show my work for potential clients?
We consider this to be professional/commercial so a charge would be made.

Can I take modelling, group or family portraits on site?
Modelling, group and family portraits at the Old Royal Naval College are subject to permission.

Can I take wedding/engagement pictures on site?
Wedding/engagement photography is not permitted anywhere on site unless we are hosting your wedding ceremony or reception.
I am a student - can I take film/photograph on site for my course work?
What are your charges for filming/photography on site?
All filming requests are subject to availability and their appropriateness.
Fees (at 27 Nov 2019, fees are subject to change)
Filming fee min £500.00 + VAT per hour
Photography fee min £350 + VAT per hour
The final fee depends on what's required
