How your donations help
Every year we carry out around 10,000 hours of conservation work and it costs over £3 million per year to maintain our site.
As a registered charity we rely on fundraising, ticket income and donations to preserve this extraordinary cultural destination. By making a major gift you will help safeguard the Old Royal Naval College for future generations.
Below are some examples of how your donations help us. If you are keen to donate towards a specific area of our work we would be delighted to discuss this with you.

Gifts in Your Name - Lanterns
Our intricate 18th and 19th century ironwork lanterns have illuminated Sir Christopher Wren’s buildings for generations and we hope they will illuminate the grounds for years to come.
Help us to conserve our 120 lanterns and contribute to our commitment to preserving heritage crafts.
Talk to us about conserving one of our lanterns in your name by calling 0208 269 4755 or emailing development@ornc.org.

Painted Hall Project
An £8.5m restoration to clean and conserve Sir James Thornhill’s epic Baroque interiors was completed in 2019. Thanks to our donors and partners, the Painted Hall has been brought vividly back to life and is now open to the public.
The project has won a number of awards, including a prestigious Museums & Heritage Award for Restoration/Conservation project of the Year and two RIBA awards.
